Crystal were clanging and wine pouring during Saipan Grand Hotel’s Grand Wine Appreciation Night held Thursday at the Susupe landmark.

Beringer Wine—the 2002 Beringer Founder’s Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Beringer Founder’s Estate Chardonnay—was featured during the event.

Saipan Grand Hotel restaurant manager Lance Razon said the Grand Wine Appreciation Night was meant to kick-off the hotel’s quarterly wine appreciation events.

“The intention of the event is to let the locals and the tourists appreciate our wine,” he said, adding that they would be inviting more people who appreciate wine in future wine tastings. “We’re very happy with the turnout [of the event].”

According to Razon, Saipan Grand Hotel will feature the oldest wine fermented in Napa Valley in the next wine appreciation night.

Saipan Grand Hotel also toasted the wine’s distributor, Pacific Trading Co., during the event. PTC sales manager Glenn Hunter represented his company.

Executive assistant manager Ed Cho also made a brief speech thanking guests who graced the event. Food and beverage assistant manager Anita Go and Hunter also made brief remarks encouraging the public to grace wine tasting events in the future.
