The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands hosted the 11th Annual Holiday Feast for the Man’amko Wednesday at the Fiesta Resort & Spa’s Hibiscus Hall.

Nearly 150 senior citizens from the Aging Center enjoyed a sumptuous lunch prepared by HANMI member hotels and allied business members. The menu featured an array of culinary delights beginning appetizers, sushi, succulent roasts, and an elaborate dessert selection.

“The HANMI Holiday Feast is a special tradition that we look forward to hosting annually as a community service for the man’amko. It’s always such a pleasure to visit with these senior citizens and share holiday cheer with them,” said HANMI chair Lynn A. Knight.

She said every year member hotels and industry partners each donate a dish and as per HANMI tradition, top executives are there to personally serve the senior citizens on the buffet line.

Adding to the festivities this year was a special performance by “Bless4”, a Japanese singing chorus group made up of four siblings from Okinawa, who grew up in the United States. The group delighted the elderly with their a capella music and energetic dance routines.

After lunch, the group spent time wishing everyone happy holidays and signing autographs. HANMI donated and raffled off 10 of the group’s CDs and posters.

Founded 20 years ago, HANMI is a forum for executives in the hotel industry and allied members to share ideas on issues of common concern. The non-profit organization’s membership is now at its largest ever with 35 hotel, allied and honorary members.
