Three-time champion Bud Light-Toyota Tundra, as well as top performers of the recently concluded 2005 Budweiser Cup BANMI Men’s Island-wide Basketball League will finally receive their awards tomorrow night, according to BANMI.

BANMI vice president Elias Rangamar said during an interview yesterday that the awards banquet will be held at the Kilili Pavilion across the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium at 7pm.

Rangamar said the banquet will be pot-luck style with each team bringing a dish.

For the third straight year, Toyota will receive the championship trophy after edging first runner-up MARPAC-Nissan Titans, 2-1, in a thrilling best-of-three championship series.

The Bud Ice-SaipanCell Hoopaholics will be presented the second runner-up trophy, while the O’Douls-Ol’Aces will receive the third runner-up award.

Toyota will also receive the pennant trophy and each member of the team’s roster will also take home individual trophies for their effort.

League officials will also present trophies to members of the Mythical 5 team as well as the team that showcased the best sportsmanship throughout the season. Most valuable player awards for regular season and playoffs will also be awarded.

As reported earlier, Michelob-Master Construction guard Dave Sablan won the league’s scoring race after tormenting opposing defenses with a league-best 344 points in 11 games for an average of 26.5 points per game.
