Da Terminators back in the lead
Da Terminators vaulted back to the lead of the inaugural Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League after taking five of six games against Jewel Night Shooters at Jewel Sports Bar Tuesday night.
The 5-1 win gave Da Terminators a 24-6 record, two games ahead of erstwhile leader USS Fotten Palau, which fell to 22-8 following a surprising 4-2 defeat in the hands of VFW What Doing at the VFW Post 3457.
Blowing great guns for Da Terminators were singles players Frank Pangelinan, Luis Fajardo, Jojo Talibong, and the doubles teams of Fajardo and R.J. Mascarinas and Pangelinan and Senen Pangilinan. The loss dropped Jewel Night Shooters to an 8-22 record.
VFW What Doing, meanwhile, relied on the good shooting of Butch Wolf, Jao Bernardo, and the combination of Wolf and Elvie Borje and Bernardo and Anthony Arriola to upset Fotten Palau and climbed to 14-16 in the team standings. Fotten Palau fell to 22-8.
Other matches Tuesday saw Bud’s Killaz (18-12) defeat USSP Fotten Gaga, 4-2, at USS Peleliu Club and Round Two Hustlers (18-12) bring out the broom against doormats VFW Leaders, 6-0, at Round Two Bar and Grill.
Bud’s Killaz’s four wins against Fotten Gaga (11-19) were credited to singles wins by Roland Cruz, William Wallace, and Vidal Camacho and the doubles victory of Camacho and Jackie Sasaki.
Round Two’s sweep of VFW Leaders (5-25), meanwhile, was engineered by all six of its players—Rowel Mariano, Joey Lucido, Nolan Cultura, Jerry Soriano, Nel Pagaduan, and Mario Diola.
