Brainard Jones graduates from Marine Corps Recruit Training
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Holding on to the high character of the Marines’ core values of honor, courage and commitment, PFC Brainard James Amari Jones of Capitol Hill, Saipan was among the 571 soldiers who graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Western Recruiting Region in San Diego, California last Nov. 18.
The graduation ceremony recognized the successful transition of the 571 new soldiers from civilian to basically trained Marine.
Jones has been assigned to Platoon 2133, Echo Company, 82nd Battalion Recruit Training Regiment. He is the son of William A. Jones and Kaoru A. Jones of Capitol Hill, Saipan and a graduate of Kagman High School, Class of 2005. His two older brothers, Billy James and Bino are currently serving in the military as well.
Following recruit training and graduation, Jones will report to the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, California. Having declared a field in Aviation Electronic Technology as his Military Occupation Specialty, he will report to MOS school in Pensacola, Florida.
“Whenever our sons and daughters in the military put on their uniform, we wear them, too. Thank you Resident Representative Tenorio for caring for our soldiers who are responding to the call of duty to serve and defend the nation,” said PFC Jones.
Witnessing the graduation ceremony were his proud father, William, his uncle Bino, his cousin Brian, and Pete A. Torres, on behalf of CNMI Resident Representative Pete A. Tenorio.
“On behalf of the CNMI people, I extend congratulations and best wishes to you, Brainard, on your accomplishment. Also, as the Thanksgiving season approaches, I want to thank all men and women in uniform who serve our nation with a level of devotion and selfless service unequalled in any other profession. Dankulo na si yu’us ma’ase for all you do and for the significant contributions each of you make in defending our constitution and our way of life,” Tenorio said through Torres. (PR)
