Government should create a more business-friendly environment. It should build more amenities for the tourists.

Promotions. The government should invest more in promoting the CNMI to other countries. In other places, Saipan is not well known. Saipan is the safest, most honest place for tourists.

The people in the CNMI are on the right track now. People here are very hospitable and friendly. More facilities [that are] safe for children should be constructed. When people come to a place with children, there should be a safe facility for the children because if I don’t find any, as a tourist I might not come back again. There should be more family oriented places in the CNMI.

Make Saipan a more family-oriented destination. Saipan is the closest access to other Asian countries. Hotels and other public places should have more facilities for children. Hotels should have a babysitting facility for children’s safety.
—Agnes McPhetres
San Vicente

Government should secure safety in the community. People are being mugged outside. The government should also support local handicrafts so that tourists can have something to bring home about the CNMI. There should also be more local activities. Cleanliness plays an important role also and makes Saipan more beautiful.

The government should also promote local arts and crafts. They should recognize people like us who make souvenirs for the tourists. Support more local handicrafts.
—Martin Castro
San Vicente

The change should come from the local people themselves. People always burden the government about all of these but the people should start within themselves in promoting the CNMI. I heard from the tourists that they find local people lazy and all other negative characteristics, so in order to get more people visiting the CNMI, the people should start changing their attitude to attract visitors.
