The Saipan Golf Association is hoping for Mother Nature to show a little love to local duffers from the fairways to the greens of Coral Ocean Point in As Gonno this weekend during the November Ace of the Month qualifier.

According to SGA secretary Larry Guerrero, some of the island’s top strikers will be on hand this Sunday, Nov. 13, at the COP to vie for the low score and the SGA’s top billing on Saipan’s southernmost course.

In addition to all of the bragging rights, the SGA is offering prepaid turkey roast packages for special events including a number of closest to the pin, longest drive, and the worst score events.

Chances are that Joe Deleon Guerrero will not be in the running for the worst score, as he bested a field of 22 competitors to take the October Ace last month at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort’s beautiful and challenging east course.

Guerrero bested the bunch with a net score of 65 thanks in large part to his 23-handicap that aided his respectable gross score of 88.

The show time for this weekend’s outing is 8am with the first tee time at 8:30am.

For more information about the SGA or any of its events, contact SGA president Ben Aldan by calling 234-3176, Larry Guerrero at 287-1052, or Joe Sablan at 664-3907. (Brad E. Ruszala)
