The Marianas Visitors Authority’s Office in Korea will launch a new website on Nov. 15.

The remodeled website will lay emphasis on the visual images of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota and provide communication functions for online membership.

“Taking a more proactive approach toward online marketing is indeed cost-effective and targets a wide range of netizens exposing the CNMI as a destination of choice for Korean travelers,” said MVA managing director Vicky Benavente.

The current website address—www.visit-marianas.co.kr—will be changed to the new URL address—www.mymarianas.co.kr—to brand the “mymarianas” statement used in all other collaterals developed by the authority.

To attract more Internet users, the new website’s main pages are strengthened with travel information. Introduction of attractions, theme tours, CNMI events, photo gallery, and search pages for golf, honeymoon, and leisure sports making it more defined to suit the user’s need for acquiring information about the CNMI.

Promoting the new homepage, the MVA Korea Office plans to have a large-scaled web-event with major portal sites. Utilizing the title of “Saipan Resort Trip Expedition”, GS e-shop (No. 1 on-line shopping mall) will start placing banner ads commencing Nov. 15 through Dec.r 15, 2005. This web promotion is in partnership with four hotels on Saipan: the World Resort Saipan, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa (former Dai-ichi Hotel), and the Mariana Resort & Spa.

A total of 40 Saipan free trip prizes will be given to the event participants through lucky draw and the “Saipan Resort Trip Expedition” will be advertised not only on GS e-shop website, but also on nine other portal sites. The portals used are sites commonly used by netizens in Korea. High search engine optimization will allow the MVA web promotion to reach millions of Internet users. Major portals in Korea are Naver, Empas, Net point, Gajai, Culture land, PD box, I like click, All at card, and Point Park. (PR)
