Ace keglers of the Saipan Bowling Association are currently engaged in a tight race, with the hunt to top the Bowling Ranking System intensifying.

Currently sitting on top of the charts is Robert Talavera, who has earned a total of 1,190 points and just a slim 50-point cushion between him and fellow veteran Jess Rebusada.

Talavera has had a consistent year, taking top honors in the Pepsi King of the Lanes Tournament in August, as well as the Annual PBA Classified and the SBC-Saturday Night League competitions.

Talavera also earned much-needed points with second place finishes in the April and October King of the Lanes, and placed among the top finishers in 12 other competitions.

For his part, Rebusada is within striking distance of the top spot with a total of 1,140 points to his name. He topped the April King of the Lanes, the All Events of the 2005 May Masters Bowling Championship, as well as the SBC Wednesday, SBC Tuesday, and SBC Friday leagues.

Not far behind Rebusada is Dannie “Mr. Perfect” Robles, who currently has 1,065 points. Robles topped the March and October sessions of the King of the Lanes, but is most recognized for his perfect game last Aug. 26 at the Capitol Bowling Center.

Holding the No. 4 spot is Mark “The Shark” Halstead with 989 points, while July and September King of the Lanes champion Richard Leong is fifth with 944 points.

Edgar Talavera and Raul Dumapit follow with 865 and 859 points, while Simon Manacop and Zapanta brothers Raymond and Ruselle round up the top 10 with 858, 772, and 644 points.

The next 10 positions belong to Arnel Del Rosario (585), Ronald Epan (564), Alex Cacdac (487), Kitz Barja (474), Noel Sicat (434), Paul Pangelinan (414), Michael Guirey (404), Glenn Garde (388), Raymond Angeles (356), and Rusty Musca (354).
