The Chalan Kanoa Saints had every player in its line up score at least a bucket, highlighting an easy 102-47 victory over the San Antonio Sixers II as action in the 2005 Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League continued Wednesday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

The Saints, who now sit in the top half of the team standings with a 6-4 win-loss card, were again led by the Reyes brothers—Luis and L.J.—but unlike previous games, the two had as much support as they could ever hope for.

Luis, who is currently second in the league in scoring, was quick to make his presence felt as he went wild for 12 of the team’s first 18 points. L.J. then picked up and scored two of the next three baskets, Sato Manalo hit a triple, Derrick Nedlic hit three straight field goals, and Luis added another pair to spearhead a lopsided first half.

With the Saints’ offense clicking on all cylinders, the C.K. cagers went into the break with a commanding 47-16 lead.

The Sixers II got some highlights of their own in the second half as Dwight Buena jumped on the hot streak and was on target on four straight attempts for eight points, but the rest belonged to the Saints, who continued to dominate.

L.J. went nuts from the outside, connecting on five bombs from long range as the Saints lit up the scoreboard for a whopping 55 points in the last 20 minutes.

L.J. and Luis finished with 19 and 18 points to lead the Saints.

Amir Villegas pumped in 12 points, while Buena and Brian Chan each had 10 points for the Sixers II, which dropped to 2-8 in the team standings.

Action continued yesterday with sister teams Capitol Hill Breeze and Garapan Rollers III taking on each other, and Toyota Camry facing Hoops. Results were not available as of press time.

Action resumes on Monday with Breeze taking on G-Rollers II at 5:30pm.
