Marvin J. Pangelinan from the Division of Customs is the 4th quarter recipient of the Hafa Adai Hospitality Award Program.

In addition to a check from the Marianas Visitors Authority, he also received gift certificates from Pacific Islands Club Saipan, DFS, Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach and Saipan Grand Hotel.

The recognition program was created to emphasize the importance of customer service, especially within the tourism industry. In addition, individuals from the Divisions of Customs, Immigration and Quarantine who go the extra mile to welcome visitors in a hospitable and professional manner, are awarded a certificate of appreciation.

“We believe that it is important for our visitors to have a good first impression of our islands,” said MVA managing director Vicky Benavente. “The employees of the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine divisions are the first faces that our visitors from off-island will get to see. It’s the MVA’s way of showing our appreciation for going the extra mile to offer a smile and show the island’s Hafa Adai Spirit.” (PR)
