Ochobu fought back from a slow start, but was not able to stream far ahead as the Lagooners came back strong in the third set to tie their World Organized Rocball High School League match, 37-37, yesterday with one set remaining to be played at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Despite a couple of first serve mishaps and a goal by Ochobu’s Ichnis Kapwich, the Lagooners were able to grab the lead and took the first set, 15-7, courtesy of three aces and two kees.

The Lagooners then hit a cold spell in the second set and struggled to put points on the board, giving Ochobu a golden opportunity to come back.

With the door swung wide open, Ochobu took control of the second set, knocking down two xunks and two aces to cruise to a convincing 16-5 victory.

With the win, Ochobu managed to turn the tables and swing favor to their corner, leading 23-20 after two sets.

The Lagooners came back to life and retaliated in the third set with a stronger effort. Ochobu was also in good form and the game was tightly fought, ending with the Lagooners creeping by with a 17-14 victory.

The Lagooners had a goal and an ace in the set, and had to work for a point at a time to pull off the win and knot the score at 37-37 with one set left in regulation.

For their part, Ochobu managed to get three aces, a xunk, and a kee in the set.

According to WOR founder James Feger, the fourth set will be played today, with the winner going on to take the match. No o-kon—Rocball term for overtime—will be played as neither team was leading heading into the final set of regulation. O-kon is only played when the team trailing after three sets wins the fourth set.

Kapwich currently leads the stats sheet as the veteran had connected for four aces, two kees, and a goal for 15 points.
