Round Two brings back 8-ball tourney to Thursdays
After an experiment that involved moving its ever-popular 8-ball invitational tournament to the weekend, Round Two Bar and Grill recently returned the local pool competition to its original Thursday schedule.
Nenita Bufton, owner of the Garapan sports bar and watering hole, said she is excited that the 8-ball event had gone back to its familiar Thursday slot and is inviting the island’s billiards aficionados to once again grace the tournament.
The Thursday 8-ball competition used to be one of the most popular pool tournaments on island but has suffered through slipping attendance soon after Round Two’s original owner Don Pangelinan left for the U.S. mainland.
Bufton said entry fee for the revived pool competition, simply named Round Two Thursday 8-Ball Invitational Tournament, is $10 and slots, in a first-come, first-serve basis, are open for 16 players.
The winner of the weekly tournament will bag a championship trophy and a cash prize, while runner-up and third place will not go home empty handed, as gift items and cash prizes also await them.
