Pacific Trading leads Chamber’s Corporate Challenge winners
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce said the recent “Corporate Challenge” sports and games competitions successfully generated funds for its educational scholarship fund.
Chamber officials led by vice president Juan Guerrero recognized the winners and participants to the competition during the group’s monthly membership meeting, which was held at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret Wednesday noon. The Chamber said over 400 people participated in the competitions.
Pacific Trading Co. bagged the first place in the competitions, while Hertz Rent A Car and CTSI Logistics Marianas Express Line won second and third place, respectively. The Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach won a special award, the Team Spirit Award.
Winners will enjoy prizes that include overnight hotel stays, T-shirts, and lunch passes, among many others.
The Chamber disclosed that several entities donated $300 each to support the fundraising event. Those companies include Triple J Wholesale, D & Q Saipan, Coca Cola Beverage Company, Dai-ichi Hotel, Pacific Islands Club, PacifiCare, Moylan’s Insurance, CTSI Logistics Marianas Express Line, Saipan Stevedore, Hertz Rent A Car, DFS Saipan, Triple J Motors, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Saipan World Resort, Saipan Shipping, Matson, Pacific Trading, Hardt Eye Clinic, and the Marianas Visitors Authority.
Guest speakers in Wednesday’s meeting were Customs director John J. Santos and Attorney General’s Office-Civil Division chief James Livingstone.
Santos spoke about its new Border Management System that will enhance Customs’ revenue collection, border security, and other functions. Livingstone spoke about the retention election for magistrates and the constitutional convention question in the upcoming November polls.
