Putting new color or repainting your concrete walls has never been easier, thanks to the latest paint selections from the paint authority, Dutch Boy.

Dutch Boy, through its local distributor, Guangdong Hardware, introduces Spectrum acrylic latex paint, which can be used without “poisoning” the wall or concrete surfaces.

“This is the only latex paint that needs no concrete neutralization. So ‘poisoning’ is now a thing of the past. That’s the old way,” said visiting Dutch Boy-Philippines marketing manager Robert Manalili in a presentation Tuesday night at PIC’s Charley Cabaret.

By using this paint, he said people actually save on time and money.

“Since you do away with concrete neutralization, you don’t need to buy the neutralizer. And as you don’t need to neutralize the concrete, you save on labor cost,” he said.

Manalili said Spectrum Paints come in a variety of paints for different purposes.

These include spectrum bondiflex cementitious coating solution which is a special cement modifier specially made for mixing with Portland cement “to form a non-porous cementitious coating that completely locks out water.”

This kind of paint has excellent adhesion, superior flexibility and excellent water resistance qualities.

By using this coating solution, it eliminates water seepage, cement plastering defects like cracking and cement chipping.

Spectrum Gloss acrylic roofing paint “is the most durable and attractive water-based roofing paint in the market today,” Manalili said.

He said a special acrylic resin makes it flexible enough to withstand drastic temperature changes.

“It does not flake, peel or chalk, giving your roof a lasting rich gloss and all-weather protection. It’s almost as good as having a second roof,” he said.

Spectrum water-based latex paint self-priming serves as primer and topcoat to give a luxurious flat finish on interior and exterior concrete, stucco, masonry, plaster, bricks, hollow blocks, gypsum boards, and fiber boards.

“As I’ve mentioned this is the only latex paint that needs no concrete neutralization,” he said, noting it has already “a built-in” ingredient.

Most importantly, he said most Spectrum paint products are non-flammable, non-hazardous, easy to use, and easy to store.

Guangdong Hardware executive manager Bin Xu said he is very proud to offer these top quality paint products to CNMI customers.

“We’re are always committed to offer high quality products to our customers. We’re proud to introduce to you the very versatile and lasting uses of Spectrum Paints,” he said.

He said Spectrum Paint has an increasing number of users in the CNMI, including hotels, residential buildings, and other commercial complexes.

Spectrum Paint is just another name of Dutch Boy, he said, noting that it is exactly the same paint sold as Dutch Boy Paint in the Philippines.

Dutch Boy paint was originally formulated in New York, U.S.A., in 1907 using a paint making process invented by two Dutch chemists. It reached the Philippines after World War II.

Since 1995, Dutch Boy Philippines has been an ISO-9001:2000 certified company.

“We’re the first company to have that certification. ISO certification simply means that we meet world standards, including U.S. standards,” said Manalili.
He noted that U.S. experts inspect Philippine factories every year to check their adherence to international standards.
Dutch Boy Philippines maintains a strong research and development team that constantly experiments with new concepts in formulation using the latest foreign technology.
Dutch Boy carries decorative and industrial products.
Decorative products are used to decorate, beautify, and protect homes and offices.
These include Nalcrete latex paint, which is being endorsed in the Philippines by popular movie actor Robin Padilla, Roofmaster, Classic flatwall enamel white, Gloss Masta quick-drying enamel, Versatix and Tex-A-Crete textured paints, and the Bondiflex cementitious coating.
Industrial paint products provide heavy duty or special protective coatings for the marine, transportation, food, and beverage industries.
These include Ameron high performance marine and protective coatings, Magnashield industrial coatings, Tortuga conventional marine coatings, Dutch Boy can coatings, and Dutch Boy caps and crowns coatings.
