Sales and giveaways abound during Energy Awareness Month
In observance of Energy Awareness Month, the Residential Energy Assistance Challenge, or REACh, of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Public Works Energy Division, are continuing their initiatives to provide affordable energy-saving products.
On Friday, Oct. 9, REACh will partner with YCO True Value in Garapan to provide information and cost savings on reflective roof coating. The roof coating will also be offered at 15 percent off the regular price throughout the day.
REACh will be on-site from 8am to 4pm to demonstrated energy efficient products and answer questions about roof coating.
DPW’s Energy Division will be present to distribute compact fluorescent lights with qualified purchases.
Reflective roof products reflect the sun’s heat and prevent it from entering a home or building, reducing the amount of electricity needed to run air conditioning.
Reflective roof products promote cost and energy savings, downsized A/C equipment, lowered surrounding air temperature, and decreased pollution.
