Operatives arrested seven aliens who were allegedly operating taxicabs illegally. Police also impounded the suspects’ vehicles.

In an affidavit submitted to the Superior Court yesterday, police detective Christopher Leon Guerrero said he conducted separate surveillance operations that led to the arrests of the suspects last Thursday.

Guerrero criminally charged the suspects with unlawful employment by an alien.

Those arrested include Chang Zhong Chi, Dong Ling Li, and Percival Reyes De Mesa. Guerrero’s affidavit did not state the identities of the four others, but said that each of them has posted $1,000 bail.

Guerrero said police have impounded all seven vehicles that were operated by each of the suspects.

Police reportedly arrested Chang in Chalan Piao. A police confidential informant availed of Chang’s services to transport him from the vicinity of the Joeten Shopping Center in Susupe to the Pacific Island’s Club in San Antonio. Guerrero said he tailed behind Chang’s gray sedan with license plate ABR-039 to Chalan Piao, where he arrested the suspect.

Guerrero revealed that he employed the same scheme to arrest the other suspects. With the help of the confidential informant, police arrested Dong along Quartermaster Road in Chalan Laulau, where the posing passenger had asked to be transported from the vicinity of Sun Leader in San Antonio. Police impounded Dong’s silver sedan with license plate ABP-809.

Police collared De Mesa at the Townhouse parking lot in Chalan Kanoa after allegedly transporting the confidential informant from the New World Market in San Antonio.

Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman imposed $1,000 bail on each of Chang, Dong and De Mesa. The judge also ordered the confiscation of the defendants’ travel documents.
