HAGATÑA, Guam—The Bank of Guam announced yesterday the appointment of Frances L.G. Borja to its board of directors. Borja fills the vacancy left by the passing of an original shareholder and director of the bank, Felino B. Amistad.

Borja, a recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sophia University in Tokyo, is the president of Carmen Safeway Enterprises Inc., a thriving Saipan corporation that was founded in 1970.

Among her many civic commitments, Borja has served as the president of the Rotary Club of Saipan, vice president of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, and has played an active role in the American Red Cross NMI Chapter. Additionally, she serves as a board member of Pacific Development, Inc., a tour company.

Anthony A. Leon Guerrero, president and chairman of the board, said, “With her background as a successful businessperson and her history of extensive involvement in her home community, Ms. Borja brings a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience to the bank. She is a welcome addition to our board, and we look forward to her close involvement in the future of our organization.”
