Rotary, Bud Cup resume this evening
The hardcourt of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium will have a busy week as two leagues resume play today.
Joining the 2005 MDX Amateur Radio Club Basketball League, which resumed play on Saturday, are the Saipan Rotary Club Summer Youth Basketball League and the Budweiser Cup BANMI Men’s Island-wide Basketball League.
After two weeks of silence due to unavailability of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, the Rotary league gets back on track with the Bwibwiis taking on the Garapan Rollers III at 5:30pm.
Two games will be played tomorrow with the undefeated Southern Sonics putting their spotless 4-0 win-loss record on the line against Luis Reyes and the Chalan Kanoa Saints at 5:30pm.
Also putting their perfect record on the line are the G-Rollers I crew as the team tries to extend their win streak against the San Antonio Sixers II at 7:30pm.
The Sonics and G-Rollers I were originally scheduled to battle last Sept. 8, but their bout was postponed and rescheduled due to Typhoon Nabi. The two have more time to prepare for each other as they are scheduled to bang heads on Oct. 27.
Meanwhile, National Car Rental-Aon Insurance and Nissan Titans will make their Bud Cup debut at 7pm tonight, while Hoopaholics and Masters Selection do the same at 8:30pm.
The bouts were originally scheduled for Aug. 31 but were also postponed due to Nabi’s wrath.
Action continues on Wednesday as Masters Construction and Ol’Aces tango at 7pm, while Toyota Tundra and Masters Selection battle at 8:30pm.
Bud Cup games are held every Monday and Wednesday.
