Team reps to show up for Bud Cup

For the fourth year in a row, the Basketball Association of the Northern Marianas Islands will host the Budweiser Cup to see which of Saipan’s kings of the court have what it takes to earn their crown.

The action gets started next Monday, Aug. 29, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, but before any of the eight teams parade around for the opening ceremonies they will have to attend tonight’s mandatory meeting at the Oleai Sports Complex.

According to league coordinator Abner Venus, all teams participating in the Cup need to send their representatives to the Ada Gym conference room at 5:30pm.

If anyone plans unseat the defending champion Toyota squad, they must be at the meeting tonight.

The season is set to run approximately three months and should have the top teams earning their awards before the start of the New Year. As a reminder to all of the teams, the deadline to pay the $900 registration fee is tonight
