It’s now official: Mark Sullivan and Andy Tidwell’s Pimps and Tarts party Saturday night was the party to go to over the weekend, with Saipan’s party people at their slutty best making a beeline for the two’s Beach Road house. Who cared about the power outage; it was party, party, party! The beer, champagne and margaritas flowed, the pantry, converted into an open bar, was jampacked with people lining up for their choice of poison, and traffic was heavy between the living room and the patio. By the time the power came back on, the party was already in full swing and half of the crowd was having so much fun I don’t think they even noticed! The party was also in lieu of a birthday celebration for Andy, who turned a year younger last Friday. Dressed in yellow-green pimp outfit and tottering from four-inch high platforms, the birthday celebrant blew out the candles on his birthday cake to much applause and wishes for more birthdays—and parties—to come!

Among those spotted with a drink in one hand and a feathered boa or something in the other were DFS president Marian Aldan-Pierce (who came as a mama san, no less), Marianas Business Journal publisher Steve Nygard, Bank of Hawaii district manager Steve Brock, Century Hotel GM and HANMI chairwoman Lynn Knight, CHC Volunteers’ Kim Prinze, Hard Rock Café’s Marcus and his wife Romina, Dr. Nathan Tan of Pacificare, and University of Hawaii associate professor Seiji Yamada.
