Online travel business in Korea is a growing industry. Travel agents, targeting consumers on-line see the effectiveness of promotions, by the low overhead costs, and the efficiency of the sales representatives who utilize this as a destination-selling tool.

Five online travel agents will be focusing on promoting the CNMI as a premiere vacation destination during the summer season. The travel agents, Hi-Saipan, Go Saipan, The Island, Saipan Mall, and Palm Palm Tour, will also provide an incentive for consumers who purchase their summer vacation package for July and August of this year.

During the summer season, the target niche market for the Korea travel agents is the Family Traveler. The MVA will support this promotion by providing 100 gift items for consumers who book their travel to the CNMI. MVA managing director, Vicky Benavente stated that, “We recognize the valuable opportunity to promote online with our Korean travel agents. Statistics show that Korean Internet users number in the tens of thousands and this number continues to increase on an annual basis.”

The MVA allocates marketing funds for online promotions and an interactive website in the major travel markets—Japan, Korea, and China. The website promotions includes search engine optimization which will promote our website in major search engines through an expanded key word search which will help target the website. (PR)
