DPS releases DUI/sobriety checkpoints schedule
The Department of Public Safety’s Police Division and Traffic Investigations Unit will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:
FRIDAY, DEC. 23, 2011
* 7pm to 8:15pm: Beach Road Susupe, in front of the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Building.
* 9:30pm to 10:45pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Puerto Rico by the U.S. Army Reserve Center.
* 11:30pm to 12:45am: Beach Road, Chalan Lau Lau, adjacent to Dr. Benusto Kaipat’s residence.
SATURDAY, DEC. 24, 2011
* 6pm to 7:15pm: Beach Road, Chalan Piao, in front of Hopwood Jr. High School.
* 8:30pm to 9:45pm: Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya, by the CUC Waterloo Station.
* 1:30pm to 11:45pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Gualo Rai, adjacent to the CRM Office.
* 1am to 2:15am: Beach Road, Susupe, in front of the Minatchom Atdao.
THURSDAY, DEC. 29, 2011
* 7pm to 8:15pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Puerto Rico, by the U.S. Army Reserve Center.
* 9:30pm to 10:45am: Beach Road, Garapan, across from Bank Pacific.
* 11:30pm to 12:45am: Beach Road, Susupe, in front of Minatchom Atdao.
FRIDAY, DEC. 30, 2011
* 7pm to 8:15pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Gualo Rai, in front of Han’s Corporation.
* 9:30pm to 10:45pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya, by the CUC Waterloo Station.
* 11:30pm to 12:45am: Beach Road Chalan Lau Lau, adjacent to Dr. Benusto Kaipat’s residence.
SATURDAY, DEC. 31, 2011
* 6pm to 7:15pm, Beach Road, Susupe, in front of Minatchom Atdao.
* 8:30pm to 9:45pm: Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Lau Lau, in front of IT&E.
* 10:30pm to 11:45pm: Beach Road Chalan Lau Lau, adjacent to Dr. Benusto Kaipat’s residence.
* 1am to 2:15am: Chalan Pale Arnold, Gualo Rai, adjacent to CRM Office.
Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).
In addition, traffic investigators and highway patrol officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect and apprehend impaired drivers, and to ensure that all passengers are wearing proper restraining device, seatbelts or car seats. (DPS)
