Libweiirs!! recorded their fourth win in four games on Tuesday night as they swept the winless Ganbarimasho in three sets by a combined score of 33-18 in continuation of the 6th Annual Coors Light Four-Person Beach Volleyball League.

The sand courts behind the Pacific Islands Club were alive with the sounds of sideouts as the Jazz Rosokow show rolled into town to broom Andrew Ortega and Ganbarimasho to secure sole possession of first place in the spring season.

Back-to-back-to-back 11-6 sets catapulted the Libweiirs!! to the top of the scoring race as well with 130 points for and 11 sets won. Having lost out on just one set in four games into the season, the Libweiirs!! are certainly making a statement that they are a force to be reckoned with.

On the other end of the court, Ganbarimasho is also making a statement at 0-4, but it’s not the one that they would like. With 130 points against, Ganbarimasho is in the running for the most abused team of the season, but their three sets won is still better than their winless kin Yacchatta!!.

The top overall pick of the 2005 draft was not enough to lift the 0-3 Yacchatta to their first win of the season, but his leadership and nine foot wingspan has Tyce Mister and his squad optimistic despite their record.

Yacchatta!! dropped their third straight contest to Martin Castro, Apple Samson, Linda Anastacio, and a random tourist picked from the crowd via brooming as the Beach Side Rockers rolled to an easy 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 victory.

The sweeping apparatus was kept from the closet yet again as Monkeys and Bananas ingested …But We Don’t Swallow (0-4) in a 33-11 thumping. Despite the one sided score in the loss, the …But We Don’t Swallow squad played inspired volleyball that was anything but what their moniker implies.

Nan Intharaluk, Jessica Shi, and a pair of beach ball savvy tourists took the opening set 11-5 before catching fire in an 11-1 numbing of the non-swallowers. They put the finish on the sweep with an 11-5 win in the third set to improve their record to 2-1.

The Air Biscuits won the only non-sweep of the night in the closest manner possible as they edged the Smackers by taking two of the three sets—all of which were decided by two points apiece.

Fashion maven Dale Roberts led his team to their third victory of the season with clutch play and pithy remarks to climb to within one game of the league leaders. The Air Biscuits eked out a narrow 12-10 victory in the first set, and escaped the wrath of the Smackers with another 12-10 win in the second to clinch the game.

Though the “W” was already awarded to the Air Biscuits, the Smackers were able to save face with an 11-9 win in the third set, and avoided walking away empty handed. The set may come in handy for the Smackers, as they are just two games off the pace at 2-2, and have a total of six sets won compared to the eight of the Air Biscuits. Without any playoffs scheduled for the Coors Light league, every set counts toward the pennant pursuit.
