The Pacific Islands Club Saipan honors its outstanding employees for May and congratulates them for their exceptional efforts and dedication to the PIC team.

Robert “Ovette” Valdez was awarded May’s Front of the House Employee of the Month. He was hired in March 2003 in Housekeeping and transferred to the Food & Beverage Department as a waiter in March 2004.

“There, he sets a good example for others in PIC’s main restaurant, The Magellan. [Valdez] is proactive about seeking feedback in his job and leads the organization in looking for ways to improve quality and promote awareness. He is an excellent team player and is always the first to offer assistance to his co-workers,” PIC said in a statement.

It said Valdez is an active participant in many of the events organized by PIC such as beach clean up, bowling and darts tournaments and the Food & Beverage tent sale.

Romeo Baterina was awarded May’s Heart of the House Employee of the Month. Since June 2001, Baterina has worked as a general maintenance repairer in the Engineering Department. He started as a carpenter for the first two years and then transferred to electrical engineering projects.

“[Baterina] performs well without delay and adjusts to situations without compromising any other tasks. [He] is a master of all trades and is skillful at plumbing, carpentry, electrical projects, welding and the repair of vehicles. As a motivated and outstanding employee, Romeo displays a high degree of respect for guests through his acts of kindness and courtesy,” the statement adds.
