In a move to make it’s wireless service even more customer friendly and affordable, SaipanCell Communications announced it has simplified things for its customers by offering unlimited text messaging for as low as $5.95 per month.

Text messaging, also known as SMS, or short message service, is the ability to send messages of up to 160 characters to another SMS enabled device. Text Messaging is considered to be less expensive than voice calls and faster than email. It is an excellent tool for those who want to always be in touch, but not tied-up for hours on the phone.

Reflecting the growing trend of text messaging among wireless users, Unlimited Text Messaging allows SaipanCell postpaid subscribers to send and receive an unlimited number of local text messages for a low monthly flat rate. While many local wireless providers offer text messaging, most charge on a per message basis.

“With the readily available access to one’s own cell phone, text messaging is very convenient, more so than ever with young adults. There is however, a disadvantage to the simple access. Young adults who have not included a text messaging plan in their monthly bills, may get hounded with fees that end up being more expensive than simply making a call. With young adults increasingly relying on cell phones as their main means of communication, texting is a way to save airtime minutes and still communicate with others,” according to wireless product director Maria Leon Guerrero.

“With SaipanCell’s Unlimited Text Messaging Plan, we are giving our customers unlimited local texting at an affordable price. Postpaid customers with Unlimited Text Messaging can send as many text messages as they want to any SaipanCell phone,” said Leon Guerrero.

According to the company, the SaipanCell current standard text messaging rate is 6 cents for each text message sent. With unlimited text messaging, a subscriber can pay $5.95 a month to send and receive unlimited messages. This rate plan is currently available only to postpaid subscribers; the company is working on a prepaid solution.
