For the first time, two bowlers wound up with the Pepsi Queen of the Lanes championship when Elena Soll and Diana Camacho both topped the May roll-off held last Sunday and Monday at the Capital Bowling Center.

It was the first Queen of the Lanes tiara for Soll and second for Camacho, as the two women bowlers knocked down 679 pinfalls each to average an identical 169.75 in the four-game series.

Soll had a roller coaster stint in the wooden lanes starting with a 156, then a 186, before bowing out with a 155 and 181. Camacho, meanwhile, bucked a slow start, which saw her roll a 146, to score 200, 152, and 181 in her next three games. Both split the $80 first-place purse.

Camacho won the March Queen of the Lanes when she rolled a pinfall total of 711 or 177.5 average.

Third place went to January and April Queen of the Lanes Lynn Teregeyo, who finished with 670 pinfalls and a 167.5 average. She had a four-game series of 148, 157, 183, and 159. She collected $20 for her second runner-up feat.

Rounding out the top five are Vicky Cepeda and Emi Williams, who rolled a 643 (160.75 average) and 630 (257.35 average), respectively. Cepeda knocked down a four-game series of 173, 137, 160, and 173, while Williams strung together games of 161, 145, 177, and 146.

A total of 17 women bowlers participated in the two-day Queen of the Lanes Tournament, which like the Pepsi King of the Lanes is sponsored by Pacific Trading Co. and organized by the Saipan Bowling Association. It concludes with the season-ending King and Queen of the Lanes tournaments.
