His actions do not match his words
We the employees of MTC find the statements coming out of the governor’s office very puzzling. His office claims that they are supporting the employees and don’t want to do anything that would “injure” the employee base.
There seems to be a disconnect here between what is being said and what is being done. After all, how can you not injure the employees or jeopardize their livelihoods when you are committed to dismembering the very company that puts food on their family’s tables? How can they care about the employees when their own lawyers threaten to load the company with frivolous lawsuits? How these actions benefit us or our families is beyond my comprehension.
We don’t know exactly the reason for this hostility, but we do know that the administration risks alienating all of us by these kinds of threats and harassment.
The governor should stop listening to his band of advisors who are not even from the CNMI, and should embrace this new investment in the Commonwealth, as it has been the only major one in his entire stint as governor. Why should he continue to oppose a done deal and one that will bring a new owner who is committed to this company and to the CNMI?
Over 80 percent of the workforce is for the sale. The FCC and CTC approved the sale and found the administration’s arguments baseless. The Senate and House is for the sale. We hope the administration, and especially its lawyers, get the message.
