PSS elementary boys cage tourney tomorrow
The Public School System Interscholastic Basketball Boys Tournament is scheduled to unfold tomorrow at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. It was postponed last week because the facility didn’t have any water.
Eight teams vying for supremacy include Garapan, Dan Dan, William S. Reyes, Gregorio T. Camacho, Oleai, Kagman, San Vicente, and Koblerville elementary schools have been divided to fill two pools.
A schedule furnished by tournament officials indicate that the Oleai, Kagman, San Vicente, and Koblerville schools see action in Pool A, while Garapan, Dan Dan, William S. Reyes, and Gregorio T. Camacho elementary schools battle in Pool B.
The tournament is expected to tip off at 9am, with Oleai pitted against Kagman from Pool A and Garapan and Dan Dan colliding in Pool B.
After squaring off against every team in their respective pool, the top two teams of each pool would advance to the playoffs.
In the playoffs, the No. 1 teams would face the No. 2 teams from the opposite pool.
The winners would advance to the title game, while the two that falter would play in the consolation match.
Also, teams will have an hour for lunch before the start of the playoffs. (Shan Seman)
