Garapan cameras: A great idea or what?

In fact, having cameras in place to ferret out citizens not toeing the mark is such a good idea I would suggest that the appointed attorney general get involved and expand on this winning concept.

How about cameras down at the beach? You know how those Sunday afternoon party revelers are; they may be doing some illegal hanky panky (you know, sand-in the-shorts, that kind of thing). Let’s catch ‘em before the trouble escalates. Church might be a good place to install cameras and recorders, those pontifical orations might step over the bounds and criticize some powerful guys who don’t want to be criticized. Better nip that in the bud.

Speaking of bud, what about cameras just outside the door of all places that serve alcohol. They could dispense with the purely technical arrest, citation, breathalyzer and court date and just issue the $2,000 fine based on the red nose in the photo. Speaking of photos, what about all those porn-mad psychos sitting in front of their computers looking at…er…bad stuff we don’t want them to see and hearing news we don’t want them to hear? Let’s install a camera in front of each and every computer monitor on the island. That should generate some big time revenue!

A camera in every bedroom is an absolute must, you just never know what kind of perversion and crime goes on in there when all the lights are off (better use an infrared camera in this case).

Finally, we need cameras in all the rooms in our prisons; if we catch convicts (or guards) doing something illegal we can just leave them there and not have the expense to try them in court. Wait, hmm, they already have cameras all over the place in prison, because prisoners don’t have any right to privacy or presumed innocence or any other constitutional rights. Speaking of prisons.
