Booth registration opens for Flame Tree arts fest
Booth applications for the 24th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival will be accepted starting tomorrow, Jan. 27, at the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.
The festival is slated for April 15-17, 2005, at the American Memorial Park in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The deadline to register is Friday, March 25, 2005.
The council is also inviting representatives of all ethnic groups to a meeting in preparation for the arts festival.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 6pm at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, to discuss the activities of the Flame Tree Arts Festival, including the Parade of Cultures featuring ethnic costumes.
The Flame Tree Arts Festival is the largest annual arts and crafts festival in Micronesia, featuring live performances and booths for artists to display, sell, and demonstrate traditional crafts and contemporary artwork. All artists are invited to take this opportunity to perform and display their artwork.
Booth registrants will have the opportunity to select the location of their booth at the festival on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants must provide a copy of their business license, non-profit certificate or bi-laws, and valid health certificate if they will be selling food. The cost is $400/business, $200/non-profit organization, and $50/traditional and visual artists.
