Man arrested for stabbing woman
A Chinese male was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after reportedly admitting to stabbing a Chinese female, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The identities of the two were not disclosed as of press time.
Police spokesman Eric F. David said yesterday that at about 5:43pm, the DPS received a call from an unidentified male reporting a disturbance at the Wooden Restaurant along Middle Road Chalan Lau Lau by the Marianas Repair Shop.
David said a responding officer arrived at the scene about five minutes later and saw the two Chinese nationals along the roadway, with the female lying on the ground.
“[The] officer found out that the Chinese female was stabbed several times in the chest and stomach area,” David said.
Medics were immediately dispatched to the scene and transported the victim to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment.
As of press time, the status of the victim was not disclosed. David, however, indicated that she sustained serious injuries.
David said that during preliminary investigation, the suspect confronted the officer at the scene and reportedly admitted to the crime. He was arrested after the investigation.
The suspect was taken to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained. (Shan Seman)
