CUC sets power outage today

The Power Division has scheduled a power outage today, Jan. 7, on Kiya 1, Kiya 2, and Kiya 4.
This outage will affect the following areas:
* Kiya 1: Saipan International Airport, As Perdido Road up to the intersection of the traffic light, Koblerville homestead, As Gonna, Katmelo Country, As Perdido, and As Lito.
* Kiya 2: LP Gas in As Lito towards the Kobler Mobil Gas Station (Happy Market, La Mode, Inc., The Valley Inn, Saipan International School, As Lito Lift Station, Guang Dong Hardware, St. Jude Church, Koresco Hotel, Tottoville, and other customers within this area.
* Kiya 4: Susupe Beach Road starting at Arizona Building, San Jose, Mobil Gas Station to Chalan Kanoa Beach Road, Jewel Nightclub, Chalan Kanoa District #4 (Lali 4) and partial of District #2 (Townhouse Building, Aquarius Tower, Jollibee Restaurant, Sister Remedios, and U.S. Postal Office)
All traffic lights will be affected within these areas.
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said this outage is needed to transfer the load at the Kiya Substation from Transformer #1 to Transformer #2 in order to troubleshoot the oil leak on Transformer #1. This interruption is necessary to allow CUC engineers to perform this work.
CUC requests the cooperation and patience of people driving and residing in these areas while the work is completed.
