The United Filipino Organization will host a donation drive on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, to raise funds for the victims of Supertyphoon Winnie, which hit Quezon province in the Philippines in early December and killed more than a thousand people.

The donation drive will be held at the 13 Fishermen Pavilion, in cooperation with CTSI Logistics, their official freight forwarder; ABS-CBN Foundation, the beneficiary institution based in Manila; and the CNMI Filipino Community.

Proceeds from this event will be coursed through the ABS-CBN Foundation, the public service arm of the ABS-CBN broadcasting network in the Philippines, which has been active in extending support through relief goods and medical assistance to less fortunate communities in the Philippines.

UFO is requesting all Filipinos on Saipan “to do their part in sharing the blessings they have received for the year in the spirit of the holiday season.”

They can bring relief goods such as used clothes and toys that can still be used or consumed. The organization is also asking every Filipino to disseminate this information to other Filipinos working and residing on the island.
