Woman jumps off balcony, injures self
A 32-year-old woman was injured early Sunday morning after reportedly jumping off a second floor balcony.
Department of Public Safety public information officer PO2 Eric F. David disclosed yesterday that the woman, 32-year-old Zong Zha Li, was found by a responding officer at the Guang Zhou Restaurant in western Garapan and was not responding. He said the woman had no pulse and was not breathing.
David said Fire Rescue personnel was also dispatched to the scene and transported the woman to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment.
Details on her injuries were not provided. It was also not immediately learned if she survived the fall.
Investigation revealed that the woman was standing on the second floor balcony when she jumped off and injured herself.
The call was reported to DPS at 8:02am. An unidentified female placed the call, David said.
In a phone interview, David said the incident is a possible suicide or homicide.
Another drowning victim
A drowning incident was reported to the Department of Public Safety on Rota Sunday afternoon.
According to Department of Public Safety public information officer PO2 Eric F. David, Police and Fire personnel responded to Toteto Beach after receiving a call reporting the incident at about 1:43pm.
“Upon arrival, medics found that the victim was not responding,” David said. “CPR was performed and later [medics] transported the victim to the Rota Health Center for further treatment.”
At approximately 2:05pm, Dr. Rodney Klassem pronounced the victim, 70-year-old Kamiya Kiyoko of Japan, dead.
“Dr. Klassem said that the victim’s direct cause of death is drowning,” David said.
