CHRISTMAS IN THE MARIANAS WALK TOMORROW

The Saipan Walking Association, Inc., in cooperation with the Marianas Visitors Authority, would be holding its 2004 Christmas in the Marianas Walk tomorrow, Dec. 18.

The walking activity will start at 5:30pm from the Chamolinian Cultural Village and will take participants from the Garapan landmark to the Oleai area in San Jose and back for the 10-kilometer walk. A shorter 5km course is also being offered for children.

A registration fee of $10 will be charged to participants, which would entitle them to free refreshments. The first 60 registrants also get a beautiful event T-shirt. A fireworks display would also be held after the walk.

$1K TOP POOL BAR TOURNEY STARTS TOMORROW

The Top Pool Bar $1,000 Open 9-Ball Tournament will be held this coming weekend on Dec. 18 and 19 from 7pm to 2am.

The contest will have a 32-man field and will be a single elimination, race to seven wins series. Only eight players will remain after the first day with the final players contesting the Top 3 money places the following day.

Entry fee for the billiard event is $30 per person and pairings will be done through a draw, which date will be announced at a later time.

RGA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOMORROW

The Refalawasch Golf Association will be hosting its 2004 Club Championship tomorrow, Dec. 18, at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort Saipan west course.

Check in time is set at 10am with tee off time scheduled an hour later at 11am. The awards banquet would be held at 6:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.

Tournament fee is $100, which includes green fee and a banquet at Hyatt Regency Saipan. The tournament is open to all members and RGA is reminding all monthly Ace winners to show up for the Club Championship.

The winner of the Club Championship gets a one-year free membership from RGA as well as free entry fee for a tournament of his choice. Top 3 low net scores will also receive cash prizes, while fourth to sixth places will take home golf bags. Also up for grabs is the closest to the pin competition on all par-three holes.
