A federal jury found a man guilty on charges of distributing methamphetamine hydrochloride.

The jury handed down an all-guilty verdict on three counts of distribution of a controlled substance against Zhu Lian Kun.

Court records showed that Zhu locally distributed different quantities of the illegal drug, commonly known as “ice,” on three different occasions.

The first incident happened sometime on Aug. 28, 2003, when Zhu sold less than a gram of ice. The following day, Zhu also engaged in a drug transaction, wherein he sold at least $2.5 grams of ice.

The third incident transpired on Sept. 24 last year. The amount of ice involved in Zhu’s transaction reached at least 9.7 grams.

After a full-blown trial earlier this week, the jury handed down its verdict Thursday afternoon. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Alex R. Munson later remanded the defendant to the custody of the U.S. Marshal upon the request of federal prosecutor Patrick Smith.

The judge scheduled Zhu’s sentencing on March 15, 2005. (John Ravelo)
