The Saipan Swim Club will kick of its celebration of the holiday season by hosting the Jingle Bells 5K Fun Run this Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Registration is set at 5pm at the Garapan Fishing Base, which is situated across Kristo Rai Church in Garapan.

The start of the 5-kilometer run is at Garapan Fishing Base and the finish is at AJ’s Restaurant in Oleai. Participants would be treated to free refreshments at the finish.

First 200 registrants also get a T-shirt. All participants will get jingle bells and a glow bracelet to run in. They are also eligible to win great raffle prizes during the awards ceremony.

The kids from the SSC will also decorate the aid stations along the course to further liven up the Christmas spirit. Participants will also be asked to vote for their favorite aid stations after the race.

Entry fee is $15 and will go to the SSC, which is preparing for their participation in the 2005 South Pacific Mini Games in Palau.

“This certainly a great way to kick off the holidays!” said Jingle Bells 5K Fun Run coordinator Betty Johnson.

The Jingle Bells 5K Fun Run is being held in cooperation with the Marianas Visitors Authority.

For more information, please call Johnson at 233-0324 or MVA at 664-3200 or 3201. (Mark Rabago)
