S&NISWCD MEETING TODAY

The Saipan & Northern Islands Soil and Water Conservation District would like to inform the general public of a meeting to be held today, Dec. 7, 2004, at 1:30pm at the Natural Resources Conservation Service Office. For more information call 234-6170.

BICOL PAVILION TO BE CLOSED

This is to inform the general public that the Bicol Pavilion, located across Marianas High School and near the children’s playground, will be closed for renovation on Dec. 5 and Dec. 10 and 11, 2004.

OLEAI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTSA MEETING SET

The PTSA Officers of the Oleai Elementary School would like to inform the parents and guardians of it students that the PTSA meeting will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, 6pm, in the school cafeteria. Everyone is invited.

SAIPAN COMMUNITY CHURCH CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

The Saipan Community Church will be having a Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 12, 2004, Sunday, from 11am to 2pm, at the Saipan Community School cafeteria, featuring crafts exhibit and food for sale. The public is invited.

CHACHA OCEANVIEW JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PTSA MEETING

The ChaCha Oceanview Junior High School will be having its 2nd Parent Teacher Student Association meeting for school year 2004-2005 on Dec. 9, 2004, at 6pm, at the school’s cafeteria. All parents and legal guardian are encouraged to attend this important meeting.

DANDAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS RUMMAGE SALE

Dandan Elementary will be holding a Christmas Rummage Sale at the school next Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, from 8am to 12 noon. Tables will be rented to interested vendors. Contact the school at 664-5025 for more information or to reserve space.

GARAPAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RUMMAGE SALE

The Garapan Elementary School’s Parents Teachers Association would like to invite everyone to join its Rummage Sale next Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, from 7:30am to 3:00pm in the school quad. If there is any furniture, art, toys, clothes, or music you want to get rid of, come and rent a space for only $20.

ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST SET

The Northern Marianas College will be conducting an English Placement Test on Jan. 6, 2005, at Room D-1, from 5pm to 8pm.

Test-takers should bring a valid photo ID and pencils.

There is a $25 fee for the English Placement Test that must be paid in advance at NMC’s Finance Office (Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm). Students will not be admitted to the testing room without proof of payment—a receipt for either the placement test fee or the NMC application fee. (Note: This $25 fee is applicable to the NMC application for all students.)

NCEES EXAMINATION SET

The Board of Professional Licensing wishes to inform the general public that it would be giving the National Council of Examiners for engineering and surveying (NCEES) principles and practice of engineering examination (civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical) professional land surveying examination on Friday, April 15, 2005; and the fundamentals of engineering and fundamentals of land surveying examination on Saturday, April 16, 2005.

Applications to take the examinations must be submitted to the Board of Professional Licensing Office no later than Jan. 1, 2005.

DEADLINE SET FOR EAP SCHOLARSHIP

The Educational Assistance Program Winter/Spring 2005 deadline is Dec. 15, 2004.

EAP is for those who have completed their high school requirement and desires to pursue a postsecondary education (certificate to bachelor’s degree).

EAP provides funding to assist defray educational cost for eligible individuals for the following program:

* on-island/offisland enrolled at an accredited institution as a fulltime status;

* on-island fulltime employee who desires to pursue a postsecondary education on a part-time status;

* on-island students taking courses online which are not offered at Northern Marianas College.

Upon availability of funds, EAP offers financial assistance for the following programs: Graduate, Juris Doctor or Doctor of Medicine.

Application must be received or postmarked no later than Dec. 15, 2004. If you have submitted an application for Fall 2004, the application is still valid.
