Dai-ichi staff driven with Christmas spirit
The staff and management of Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach kicked off their celebration of the holiday season with a bang Friday evening, hosting guests to a special Christmas tree lighting ceremony and reception in the hotel’s lobby.
“It’s the ceremony that starts the festive season for us here at Dai-ichi, for the Christmas period, New Year period, and the Chinese New Year on February,” said hotel general manager Mark Swinton. “So we have lots of promotions going on our food and beverage outlets, our spa, kids club, and promotions within the rooms for guests to come stay with us.”
Swinton explained that the celebration, which featured live entertainment from employees, served as another showing of the importance of employee participation in hotel activities.
“One of the things we really encourage is employee participation and also our choir is made up of our employees, so we’re really proud,” he said. “They’ve done a great job and we really try to get everybody involved, and the guests like that…its very important for our guests.”
The celebration also involved tourism partners, government officials, Tan Holdings Corp. affiliate company managers, and several hotel guests and local business people.
Meanwhile, Swinton said hotel operations for the year were better compared to last year.
“It was a better year than 2003, [we’re] definitely moving in the right direction in all aspects…in the operation with our guest comments, financially and also developing towards the future. So it was a better year, but we also have a long way to go, and next year is going to be a big year for us as we go into our renovation starting in March,” he said. “We look forward to that and are really getting the hotel ready to go in the future and be ready for a lot of the new tourists that are going to be coming.”
