Police arrested a man who allegedly struck his girlfriend’s back with a chair after being told to go home during a drinking spree at a neighbor in Chalan Kanoa.

Thirty-six-year-old Darwin Osilek Towai is facing charges of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Towai allegedly kicked and punched the woman, besides hitting her with a chair.

Superior Court judge Kenneth Govendo imposed a $10,000 bail on Towai, and directed the defendant to stay away from the victim.

Investigation conducted by police detective Christopher Leon Guerrero showed that Towai got mad after being told to go home during a drinking spree, which resulted in a heated argument between him and the woman. The woman then slapped him once on the face because Towai was allegedly embarrassing her.

As the woman was walking away from him, Towai allegedly struck her back with a plastic chair and continued to beat her up.
