Flush It! continues to win it

The hits just keep on coming for the undefeated Flush It! squad as this time they sent the Dolphins of Marianas High School for a swim to improve their record to 7-0 atop the standings in the 6th Annual Miller 4-Person Beach Volleyball League.

Only Flush It! and Bend It Like Megan have managed to escape unscathed on the beach volleyball court at the Pacific Islands Club, and it doesn’t look like either team is showing any signs of stopping. Volleyball enthusiasts are advised to put a large “X” on their calendars for Thursday, Nov. 11 when the two juggernauts match up.

On, Election Day, however, Flush It! had to deal with the powerful Dolphins to get the night started, and the students found themselves voted out of office in a three-set sweep.

The under-aged overachievers couldn’t muster up enough support from the Electoral College to come away with the win, and ceded the victory to Flush It! after the second set. Though the third set was so close that the teams needed to run into extra points, the students failed to cast a ballot for their cause because the voting requirements state that they must be 18 years of age.

Flush It! returns to the courts tonight, along with all of the Tuesday night winners, when the they take aim at Shoot the Winkle at 6pm. The Dolphins will be back in action next Tuesday when they face Team Papalatung at 6pm.

The second game between the Dragon Flares and the winless Esemuoel was a landslide akin to the Reagan-Bush beat down of Mondale-Ferraro. The Flares swept the E-Team in three sets, beginning with an 11-0 skunking that left a foul smell in the air reminiscent of the old Puerto Rico dump.

The E-Team didn’t go down quite so easily in the second set, and forced extra points, but the result was the same. At 0-6, the E-Team needs to go onto E-bay to find some game soon before they join the Machigainai! in the 0-8 club.

Esemuoel returns to action Thursday, Nov. 9, when they try to out shoot Shoot the Winkle at 7pm, while the Dragon Flares take on the 5-0 Bend It Like Megan tonight at 7pm.

Shoot the Winkle was the only losing team that was able to win a set against the competition on Tuesday night, as they were tied with Tell Them Tom Braider Sent You at a set apiece going into the final.

Exit polls had the teams to close to call after the first two sets, but the Winkle was shot by Tom Braider, as the team with the longest name earned their fourth victory by winning the popular vote, 11-2.

While the Winkle will be battling Flush It! at 6pm tonight, the Tom Braider’s will try to peel the Bananas at 8pm.

Another game, another loss for Machigainai!, as the squad from the cellar got smacked by a team of clams. Though the autumn season brings to mind ghosts and goblins, the Clam Smackers had thoughts of a spring-cleaning as they swept the winless wonders 11-7, 11-2, and 11-2. Even the tourists polled by CNN couldn’t help Machigainai! break the cycle of voter apathy.

While Machigainai! has called for a recount, they will have plenty of time to tally their votes before their 9pm game with the Bill Bratzski’s. The team of Jean Claude Clam Dam returns to the arena tonight against the Sleezy Lambleezies.

All the side-outs you can handle will be doled out again tonight at the PIC. If you would like further information about the 6th Annual Miller 4-Person Beach Volleyball League, contact Jon, Evan, Dennis, or Nan by calling the SEA office at 235-6231 ext. 5147.
