The Attorney General’s Office yesterday filed multiple criminal charges against a man who allegedly barged inside a woman’s house, beat her up, and raped her.

CNMI chief prosecutor David Hutton lodged the charges against 38-year-old Pablo Gacayan Mendoza.

Mendoza allegedly burglarized the woman’s residence in Kannat Tabla on Oct. 24 and refused to leave when told to do so.

Armed with a knife, Mendoza allegedly assaulted the woman, harmed her and had sex with her without her consent, according to the criminal information filed at the Superior Court.

Hutton filed nine criminal counts against Mendoza: burglary, trespassing, assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and sexual assault in the first and second degrees.
