Name it. Basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, track and field and Rocball, Saipan had a deluge of sports events last week.
In basketball, the 2004 UFO-San Miguel Cup began its finals last Sunday with SIP-Verizon forcing a rubber match after upending defending champion Visminda-Country House.

The 2004 Saipan Rotary Club Summer Youth Basketball League also heated up with pennant champions Sixers I and Makos booking seats in the finals Wedneday.

In the Commonwealth Football League, the Miller Lite Barbarians reaffirmed their supremacy over Verizon Nitro, while Ghasias Brothers are strolling to a perfect season in the 2004 World Organized Rocball Interscholastic and Community League last week.

Last Saturday also saw the Oceania Open and 18-and-under Championships get going at the Oleai track and field facility.

Action in beach volleyball at the sand courts of the Pacific Islands Club also continue to roll as well as singles play in the 2004 Shell-Telesource Open over at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.
