New Naval Reserve Center opens on Guam

The Naval Reserve Center Guam, located at Commander, Naval Forces Marianas, Santa Rita, Guam, officially opened their doors for operation on Oct. 15, 2004 after receiving authorization by the Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Vern Clark.

Navy Reservists living on Guam, Japan and South Korea can now complete drill weekends there.

Many Reservists are spouses of active duty military members serving on Guam, Japan and South Korea.

The new Reserve Center serves as the theater liaison for 120 drilling Reservist in a variety of units, administering drill pay, monitoring medical and dental readiness, managing billets and overseeing training.

The support staff consists of one officer and six enlisted station keepers, all active duty full time support personnel.
