A total of 50 cadets of the Marianas High School JROTC Dolphin Battalion participated in an encampment held at the JROTC Obyan campsite from Oct 8 to 10, 2004.

Training during the encampment included land navigation, marksmanship, knot-tying and rope bridge construction. Additional activities included competition in tap-out, basic drill, academic bowl and marksmanship.

In tap-out, cadets are given commands and those who are out of step are tapped out (eliminated), with the last person remaining winning.

As for the academic bowl, competing cadets are asked questions. Those who give the wrong answers are eliminated and the last person standing wins.

The training ended with a road march from the campsite back to the MHS campus. Organizers of the encampment declared it a success, with all the cadets returning to the campus safely.
