Tentative schedule for Arbor Month activities

The October committee has come up with activities to complement the declaration of Arbor Month. This month puts into perspective the necessity of having trees.

The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research Extension & Education Services has accepted the proposal for Arbor Day activities. For the moment, these activities will be held at the Garapan Elementary School.

The activities include the following:

1. The value of having trees

2. Pruning instruction

3. Air layering instruction

4. Adopting a tree at Garapan Elementary School.

NMC-CREES will be providing one plant per classroom for them to adopt.

All of the activities will be held in the quad area of the school.

The schedule will be as follows:

Thursday, Oct. 21

9am Kindergarten and 1st grade

10am 2nd grade

1pm 3rd grade

Friday, Oct. 22

9am 4th grade

10am 5th grade

11am 6th grade

The October committee recognizes the NMC-CREES and the Department of Lands and Natural Resources (Plant Facility) for their support of these activities.
