Local readers take weekly challenge of picking winners

With the successful push for parity by the management of the National Football League, it is becoming harder for teams to maintain a level of dominance with the same personnel due to the mandated salary cap.

When negotiating contracts with marquee players, affordability becomes more of an issue in the decision-making process than loyalty. While this has subjected the general managers to many sleepless nights, the situation has left fans on the edge of their seats, as almost any team has a legitimate chance at winning every week.

As several prognosticators across the globe have been hanging up their magic pencils, there are a few individuals on island who are willing to try their hands at predicting the panoply of pigskin pageantry.

Beginning this week, William Hunter, John Blanco, Richard Brooks, Jennifer Lee, and Jimmy “Big Tuna” Sablan will have their weekly NFL predictions published in the Saipan Tribune throughout the regular season, the playoff’s, and Superbowl XXIX this February.
