As the 9th Annual Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic draws nearer every day, “celebrity golfer Jimmy McDougal of Scotland” has been making his way around town, enjoying all aspects of island life on Saipan, and building confidence before the tournament.

A first timer to the Hyatt’s tournament, “McDougal” has been spotted preparing for the golf classic in various areas of Saipan. Though some have referred to his methods as unorthodox, the “Scot” claims to have already mastered all three hole-in-one prize holes at the tournament.

“McDougal” was seen cruising down Beach Road on a scooter yesterday, and perhaps he intended on making an upgrade, because sinking the shots will net the links legend a Toyota Corolla courtesy of Microl Toyota, a Mazda Tribute courtesy of Triple J Motors, and $10,000 from Mobil Oil.

“I’ve been consistently hitting the hole-in-one. I’d say 19 out of 20 times, so I think I’m in with a chance,” said “McDougal.”

“McDougal” arrived here earlier this month in preparation for the Hyatt’s annual charity event that aims to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. The charity helps terminally ill children fulfill one of their life long dreams.

When asked what kind of dreams that kids nowadays would like to have granted, the “old pro” said that they will actually get two wishes fulfilled this time around.

“By me being here for the tournament, people get to have a dream of theirs fulfilled anyway. I mean, I beat Colin Montgomerie in the Aberdeen Classic’s 8-and-under division you know,” said “McDougal.”

“McDougal” is still conducting interviews for potential teammates, any interested doffers should contact him at the Hyatt’s presidential suite, thought callers may find it difficult getting past the operators due to “McDougal’s” heavy security. Alternatively, tournament director Faheem Ebrahim may be contacted to setup an interview by calling 234-1234 ext 25, or via email febrahim@hyattsaipan.com.

The tournament holds a 4-person scramble format and takes place at Kingfisher Golf Links on Saturday, Sept. 25; with registration time at the course is 6:30am, and a shotgun start at 7:30am.
