The competitive edge of a business enterprise in the globalized world depends on its ability to forge a creative partnership with government and non-government institutions.

To help facilitate a healthy climate for exchange of information and synergy, the Marianas Institute Filipino CPAs and Accountants or Mificpa is sponsoring a special seminar workshop.

Dubbed “The Management, the Accountant and the Government—A Partnership for Profit and Stability,” the seminar workshop is open to accountants, managers, and other members of the business workforce.

It will be held on Sept. 18, 7:30am to 4pm at the Rey Lounge, Aqua Resort Club in Achugao. Registration fee is $20, which is inclusive of materials, lunch, and refreshments in the morning and afternoon.

Relevant topics that will be presented for discussion include the following:

* Business Opportunities in the CNMI;

* Current Problems of the Business Community;

* Alternatives to the Garment Industry;

* Second Job for Alien Workers;

* Financial, Management Accounting and Statistical Reports;

* Impact of Information Technology in Business Operation; and

* Possibility of Saipan as a Venue for CPA Examinations.

Invited speakers are of high-caliber, known experts in their own fields, and have proven their solidarity with the concerns of Oversea Foreign Workers. They include Saipan Chamber of Commerce president Alex Sablan and Saipan Rep. Heinz Hofschneider.

Aside from its intended service for Filipinos in the business community, the seminar workshop is also organized to mark the 10th year anniversary of Mificpa, the only organization of OFWs that has a worldwide scope. Many of its members have successfully passed the U.S. CPA board examination. This year’s anniversary bears the theme “Ten Years of Enhancing Growth and Development.”

Mificpa steadfastly affirms its belief that the Filipino accountants, considered to be the best in the industry, perform a vital role in forging creative partnerships among the business community, government, and non-government institutions of the CNMI.

For inquiries and reservations, contact Lanie Matillano at 235-8641 or 287-4201 or any past and present officers of Mificpa.
